music magazine double page spread 2

The colour scheme on this page is a simple grey scale with the bit of red on the fabric and in the subjects hair which automatically catches the readers eye and becomes the focal point of the page. With the background being so light and plain it makes the red stand out even more and look brighter and also makes the black that the subject is wearing stand out and makes the image the main focal point on the page. The colour of the text fits in with the colour scheme and stands out on the background which makes it easier to read although it could have been larger to make it clearer to read.
The background on the page is failry plain and simple which draws attention to the foreground of the sunject on the american flag althought there is an important part in the background 'usa' in large letters taking up a lot of the space which catches the readers eye, also this may suggest that the page has something to do about the usa which may draw the audience in.
The text on this page is on the right hand side of the page and is clear and stands out compared to the background but is quite small and therefore puts it out of focus on the page, there is quite a lot of writing on the page which may put some of the audience off, but by making it small it makes it look like theres less writing which looks appealing on the page.
The main image on this page takes up a lot of the space and is the the first thing you look at, when you look at the page and adds interest with the subject sitting on the american flag which suggests the page is about the subject in america. The subject is made to be the focal point of the page by wearing black which stands out to the rest of the page and she is also wearing striking clothing and heels whihc shows that she i sup to date with fashion which may draw in some of the target audience.
The layout on this page is quite simple and formal as its set out neatly with the image on the left hand side and the text on the left and text running behind the image which draws the audience in as there isn't too many things on the page which may put the audience off.

music magazine double page spread

The layout on this double page spread is fairly simple with the main image of a well known singer in the centre of the page which takes up quite a lot of the room and with some text that gives more information on the image to the left, and some more smaller images of the subject to the right. There is also some negative space on the page so that it isn't overpowered with images and writing. The text is also set out neatly and formally in easy coloumns and box's. By adding text box's and bright colours onto the page injects some fun and eyecatiching colours onto the page and makes it stand out.
The colour scheme on this page is made up of bright colours such as yellow, red. black, a bit of blue and white which is effective and striking against the light pale background. The bright yellow text box's on the page automatically draws the audience in and draws their to these bits of the page which shows that they are the most important things on the page. The image also draws the reader in as it takes up quite a lot of the page and with the subjects bright striking red hair and stands out to the simple light background, also by making this singer the main focus on the page will draw the audience in as she is well known and the audience will want to know what the news is on her.
There are some additional images and text on the subject to the right of the page talking about her diferent hairstyles which may draw the audience in as they may look to her for insperation.
The masthead on the page is 'whats my name, rihanna ft drake' which suggests that the page is going to be on one of her songs she did with another singer which may interest the audience and persuade them to purchase the magazine.

music contents page 2

The colour scheme on this page consists of a grey scale with only a little bit of red in the shape of  a heart where the subjects heart is which automatically draws the audiences eye to this point and may suggest that the magazine and features may be about his personal love life.
The simple plain background is out of focus and draws the audiences eye to the foreground of the subject which makes them the main focus of the magazine. Although there is an important part in the background being the 'V' suggesting the brand of magazine and also by hiding it behind the image shows that the creators are confident that the audience are able to recognise the brand of magazine. By making the subject the main focus of the page someone most people will know and recognise will draw the audience in especially his fans as they would like to know about his life.
The title 'contents' is laid out unusually and stylistically in bid bold block writing that is easy to read and stands out effectively against the pale background. By setting the title out like this is set out through all the contents pages on the 'vibe' magazines which allows the audience to establish the brand and style of magazine.
The layout on this contents is easy and quick for the audience to understand and isn't over powered with writing and too much additional information. The features on this page are easy to read and understand as they are all the same font and size, by making the font different and fancy adds interest to the reader, the features could have been made clearer by making them slightly bigger. Certain features are easy to find as they are set out neatly and formally with the features set out tidily underneath each other which makes it easier for the audience to see what the magazine is about.

music contents page 1

The contents page is laid out simply with the features on the right hand side of the page and a image in the centre and going towards the left of the page of a female singer which takes up most of the page and fits in well with the features on the page and the colours in the image also go with the colours on the rest of the page which creates a eye pealing and pleasent page. There is also some negative space around the page so it doesn't make the page look to full and over powered with writing.
The freatures are fairly easy to read as they are in clear, black, bold writing all the same font and size in a formal set out but there could be even clearer to read by making them bigger. It is quite easy to find certain features and the features are set out neatly and simply. The head line on the page is the biggest and clearest bit of text on the page and stands out on the pale background and makes it clear what the page is about. The image on the page is very eyecatching and fits in with the text on the page.
There are only a few colours on this page such as, pale grey, black and red which go together well and go good with genre of the page. By using subtle and little amount of colour adds simplisity and doesn't over power the page. Also by using a light colour in the background automatically draws the auadiences eye to the foreground of the image and to the features, which are the main and most important things on the page.

music magazine cover 3

The masthead 'vibe' is bi and bold and stands out compared to the background, its in white block font and is very clear and easy to read and fits in with the rest of the page and the genre of the magazine. The masthead spreads nearly the whole width of the page and is obscured by the image which shows that magazine producers are confident that the target audience are able to read what the masthead says. The masthead is the biggest bit of text on the page which shows that it is the most important thing on the page as the audience will recognise the magazine as soon as they see the masthead.
The main image on the this magazine cover is of a male singer called 'chris brown' directly at the audience leaning against a wall with his hands in his pockets and a slanted hat on his head which fits in well with the genre of the magazine. The subject is presented to be laid back, chilled out and comfortable by the way he is leaning back on the wall with his hands in his pockets. The main image is also used as a background to the magazine cover but using the subject as the main focus of the page. The colours of clothes that the sunbject fits in well with the colours scheme of the cover and fits in with the genre of the magazine which shows that the magazine cover is well thought out to fit in with the rest of the magazine. This image may appeal to the audience because the subject is the main focus on the cover and the audience will be intersted to hear the latest news about the subject.
The sell lines on this cover are down the right hand side of the page all underneath each other in two different colours that fit in with the colour scheme and stand out against the background. All the sell lines are all the same front and roughly the same size apart from the first few ones which shows that they are more important than the other sell lines as they catch your eye first. The sell lines are in bold and easy to read font so the audience can read them easily which may persuade them to purchase the magazine.
The colours on this cover consits of black, white, red and lime green which makes the cover very bright, colourful and eye catching. White is the dominate colour on this cover as it is very bright and is the first colour to catch your eye which is why the most important text is in this colour. There are four colours on this cover that go together well together and catches the audiences eye, I think this is a fair amount of colours on the cover to add interest but the cover isn't over powered by colours as there is only bits of red and black and the main colours are white and green this fits in well with the genre of the magazine. The colours in the main image goes together well with the colour scheme as the magazine creators have only used the colours from the colour scheme in the main image which links the whole page together.
The anchorage text is in big, bright, bold writing and runs across the image a little lining them together well. The anchorage text gives information about the image saying 'Is that chris brown?' and also a smaller bit of text beneath that for additional information saying 'im still a virgin.. in your eyes' which draws the audience in and makes them want to purchase the magazine as it gives addtional and unknown about the subject and makes the audiene curious about whats in the magazine.
The skyline provides additional information on the magazine and is quite clear and easy to read, it also fits in with the rest of the page and fits in with the colour scheme. The skyline is quite noticeable on the cover as its bright colours and stands out against the background.
The barcode is at the bottom left hand side of the page and it quite small and out of the way and doesnt go over any text or images but is also noticeable on the page. The price on the page is on the bottom left hand side of the page with the barcode and is quite hard to find as its the smallest text on the page this might be because the magazine creators don't want to put the audience off with the price of the magazine and draw them in with the contents of the magazine first to persuads them to purchase the magazine.
The layout of the magazine cover is quite formal as all the text is in straight lines and is neat and tidy, also all the text and sell lines are beneath each other creating a neat formal magazine cover. But the bright colours on the page make the page more fun and less formal to attract the audience. The cover isn't full with images text and colours which would over power the page which attracts the audience as they will find it quick and easy to read what the magazine is about and persuades them to purchase the magazine.

music magazine cover 2

The mast head on this magazine cover is big, bold and stands out to the background and automatically catches the audiences eye and fits in with the rest of the magazine cover. The mast head is the biggest text on the page which shows it importance is higher than the rest of the text and also catches the audiences eye. The mast head is big bold white block writing which stands out compared to the black and white image and bright background and also runs over the top of the image to ensure that the audience can understand the name of the magazine, 'Vibe' which could have been used to link in with music as you can get vibes in music so it fits in with the genre of the magazine.
The image on this magazine cover is a close up of a celebrity singers face called 'Rihanna'. The subject isn't quite making direct address to the audience as she are looking slightly away from the camera. The image is in black and white and stands out compared to the brightly coloured background which automatically makes it the focal point on the page. In this image the subject is presented to be caring about her appearance as she has make up on and her hair done and also has visible jewellery on, which makes her the main focal point of the magazine which may appeal to the target audience.
The anchorage text is very bold and big and runs across the main image and the black stands out compared to pale grey on the image. The anchorage text 'Rihanna&Chris' links in the rest of the page and gives more information about the main image and what may be inside the magazine which catches the audiences eye and makes them want to purchase the magazine. The colour of the anchorage text fits in with the rest of the cover and is also the second largest bit of text which shows it is quite important compared to the rest of the text.
There are a few sell lines down the right hand side of the page and are all the same font and size but are two different colours which are black and grey and the black stands out more on the background compared to the grey which makes the black coloured sell lines look more important as it catches the audiences eye more. The sell lines fit in with the rest of the page and with the genre of the magazine.
The colour scheme on this magazine cover is made up of blue, black, white and grey which a simple but effective and eye catching colour scheme. Blue is the dominate colour on the page as it stands out to the rest and is used as the background. The colour of the main image is links in with the rest of the colours on the page and the sell lines although the blue is very different compared to the rest of the colour scheme but works well with the colours on the page. The colour scheme matches well with the genre of the magazine as it is very eye catching and stands out to the audience.
The price is at the bottom right corner with the bar code and is much smaller than the rest of the font and is hard to find and read and may be small for a reason as the magazine may be quite expensive and the creators of the magazine may not want to put the audience off.
The bar code is located at the bottom right of the page and is small and doesn't get in the way of the image or any text but it is noticeable on the page.
The layout of this magazine is quite simple but formal with the sell lines all beneath each other neatly and all the writing in straight lines. The cover is also minimal featuring as there are only a few sell lines and and colours creating a formal eye catching cover.

music magazine cover 1

The masthead on this magazine cover is big bold and brightly coloured it is quite easy to read as it is in clear bold font. The masthead nearly goes across the width of the magazine which automatically draws the audiences eye to the masthead, the masthead is covered a bit by a sell line box which makes it difficult to understand what is says fully but shows that the maker of the magazine is confident that the audience will be able to understand it. The masthead goes over the top of the main image which makes it easier to read, it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the cover as it stands out and its a different colour to the rest of the cover, but there are little bits of yellow that are less subtle on the cover which links the masthead in with the rest of the cover.
The main image on this magazine cover is of a singer called 'lil wayne' which attracts the target audience and goes across the whole page behind of the writing and one of the first things you see on the page. The subject in the image is wearing a black top hat with long curly black hair and tatoos all over their body and a lip peircing and they also have a silver necklace which catches the audiences eye, the image fits in with the context and style of the cover which also attracts the target audience more. The subject in the image isn't making direct address as he is looking down but adds interest and emotion to the cover. The subject is presented to be fun, proud and lives for the moment by getting so many tattoos and showing them off, they are also resented to be caring by having an emtional and caring look on his face and also sophisticated by wearing a top hat.
The colour scheme on this cover consits of yellow, black and white. Yellow of the masthead dominates the cover as it stands out compared to the background and compaed to the rest of the colours on the page. There are only three different colours on the cover which is a good amount so that the cover isn't over powered with different colours but there isn't too little so thats its too bland although there could be brighter colours to catch the audiences eye. The colours in the main image match well with the rest of the colours on
the mcover but not so much with the yellow. The colours fit in well with the genre although they could have used depper reds and bold colours which would fit in more with the genre.
The anchorage text is in white, big bold and clear font and goes slightly across the main image which draws the reader in it says 'lil wayne goes rock' which links in with the image and the contents of the cover. This text makes the audience want to but the magazine as it has new information on a big rapper and draws the target audience in.
There is a skyline at the top of the page for additional information and you can see that it is in white but it isn't clear and the audience aren't able to read it.
The sellines go down the left hand side of the page in clear white and bold font, there are 4 sell lines with clear yellow lines under each one for a clear indication on the difference in the sell lines. The sell lines aren't all the same size but are the same font, on two of the sell lines there is a section of writing that is big and there is smaller writing underneath which links in with the sell line, which shows that the bigger writing is more improtant than the smaller and the creator of the magazine wants the audience to notice the nigger writing first.
The price is at the bottom right corner with the bar code and is much smaller than the rest of the font and is hard to find and read and may be small for a reason as the magazine may be quite expensive and the creators of the magazine may not want to put the audience off.
The bar code is at the bottom right of the page and is small and doesn't get in the way of the image or any text but it is noticeable on the page but blends in with the rest of the page.
The layout of this magazine cover is simple but eye catching for the target audience as there is a main image that is also used as a background with some short straight to the point sell lines on the left and a clear bold masthead at the top of the page. This catches the audiences as they can find out what the magazine is about quick and easy and the cover isn't over powered with writing.
